Wine & Gold Scrimmage: The Cavs kick off their season tonight at the "Q"

The Cavaliers' annual Wine & Gold Scrimmage is tonight at 7 p.m. at the "Q".

The annual scrimmage, sponsored by FirstEnergy, pits the players against one another.

All of the tickets for tonight's FREE event have already been distributed. But if you didn't get a ticket, don't worry, the Cavs will stream the Wine & Gold Scrimmage LIVE on to give ALL fans a chance to check out the Cavs before they tip off the 2014-15 season.

Seating for the event is general admission.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. so fans can enjoy a playground of concourse activities and special offers, while taking in the excitement of being "deep in The Q" for Cavs basketball, including:

• Special items available at FanFare concessions, including $1 sodas, $2 nachos and $2 popcorn

• Interactive basketball games, including inflatable Pop-a-Shot and Mobile Hoops

• "Express Yourself" face painting, hair painting and temporary tattoos

• Sign making stations

The scrimmage will split the current roster into two squads, selected by Cavs Head Coach David Blatt, for two, 20-minute halves. In addition to the action on the court, fans will be treated to a special production of the Cavs' award-winning game presentation, including performances from the Cavalier Girls and Scream Team, as well as the usual entertaining antics from mascots, Moondog and Sir C.C. There will also be many other special fan activities and giveaways both on and off the court during the evening.


Taking a page out of the memorable Fan Appreciation Night tradition, all fans in attendance will have a chance to win the opportunity to come down to center court immediately following the Wine & Gold Scrimmage, where Cavs players will personally give away their game-worn practice jerseys! Tonight will be the first opportunity for fans to see the 2014-15 Cavaliers roster as the team gets ready for the most anticipated season in franchise history.

"This town needs a championship and everybody wants to be the one that says they were there for the whole thing from day one," said Cavs fan Evan Stone.

"Having Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, and LeBron James all on one court together playing, they can definitely win a championship this year, so people should be excited to go see a scrimmage," said Cavs fan Brian Pastor.

And why not? This town is hungry for a winner and they see one in wine and gold.

"This is a championship. I'm positive. Guaranteed," said Cavs fan Donnie Stigall.
