On Friday, May 23, an unidentified white man was found in Lake Erie near the break wall by Burke Lakefront Airport.
All attempts to identify the man have been unsuccessful.
He is described as an older white man, between 45 to 58-years-old, between 5'3'' and 5'11''. No tattoos or distinctive marks were noted, but may have been lost from areas where the skin was damaged and not viewable. The man didn't have any teeth and may have worn dentures.
Examination of the body revealed a past fracture of the nose and left cheek, with likely visible deviation of the nose.
He was wearing "Wrangler" blue jeans size 36W x 32L and black steel toe boots size 7.5 "Brahma" brand. The presence of work boots suggest the possibility the man went missing while working on or near Lake Erie.
The state of his body suggests that he was in the water for several months before the recovery in May.
A facial sketch based on the appearance of the man's skull has been released.
