ALLIANCE, OH (WOIO) -

The Blue Fig restaurant reopened at 11 a.m. this morning, one day after a fatal shooting between two employees.

Police say the 56-year-old dishwasher, a man named Peter Ortiz shot and killed Akira Kirksey who was the 26-year-old cook.

The restaurant is one of Pat Bailey's favorites and she is not deterred by this kind of work place violence plaguing America.

"If you let this kind of stuff stop you from doing things, you would do nothing nowadays," says Bailey

The two men exchanged words before the shooting.

Shortly after that police say Ortiz shot Kirksey, then downed tequila at the bar and went back to the kitchen and shot Kirksey a fourth time before he went outside to smoke a cigarette and to wait for police.

Akira Kirksey's wife is expecting their second child.  Today they were to find out the sex of their unborn baby.

Peter Ortiz remains behind bars, charged with aggravated murder.

He is due in court tomorrow morning.
