LORAIN, OH (WOIO) - The week ends with an update from Columbia Gas concerning the odor of gas that closed a Lorain elementary school for several days.
Students and staff at the Admiral King Elementary School were evacuated on Tuesday and moved to three other buildings until the situation is under control.

Ray Frank, a spokesperson for Columbia Gas, says that several tests have confirmed that the source of the issue was not from their pipeline or delivery system.
According to Frank, the gas or methane detected was from a naturally occurring underground situation which is currently being handled by the local fire department.
Authorities at the fire department may opt to work with school officials to build some sort of ventilation system to resolve the issue.
