Rising Star Learning Center's 9th Annual "Shoot For The Stars" Fundraiser: October 11th

Rising Star Learning Center

Rising Star will be holding it's 9th Annual Shoot for The Stars Fundraiser!

Erin and Tony DeCarlo's son, Thomas, was born with Cerebral Palsy.  With an unwavering commitment to their son, and giving new meaning to parental involvement in education, they began a conductive education learning center for children with motor impairment, what is now Rising Star. Only one of a few schools in the country providing this type of education.

What is Conductive Education?

Conductive education is an intensive, multi-disciplinary approach to education, training and development for individuals with cerebral palsy, spinal bifid and other motor challenges. Conductive Education was developed in 1945 in Hungary by Dr. Andreas Peto. Peto theorized that people with disabilities are characterized by disintegrated function. His theory was that this may be overcome, and that coordinated functioning can be developed through an indirect cognitive route involving teaching and learning.
