Nearly two weeks after a fatal accident, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has released the name of the man who burned to death in a car accident.
Jose Ramon-Mateo Rodriguez was trapped inside his Toyota 4 Runner when it crashed on September 28, 2014.
Police say Rodriguez was speeding and driving recklessly on Valley Road when he missed a curve in the road. He then traveled off the left side of the roadway, and hit a utility pole in the 4200 block of Valley Road.
Police say the force of the crash caused the SUV to spin out of control. A Dodge Nitro, that was also traveling in the same direction on Valley Road, also collided with the out of control Toyota.
It was then that police say the severely damaged Toyota burst into flames with Rodriguez trapped inside.
The 45-year old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police meantime arrested the driver of the Dodge for OVI.
