We've uncovered another case of a man on the run for attacking a woman, yet going after the same woman again.
David Lawrence is now facing a series of charges and is finally locked up.
Trouble began in May when a young mother was attacked at her job on the campus of Cleveland State University. Lawrence got indicted, but records show he didn't go to court.
Police say in August, he suddenly went back and tried to grab the same woman at her job again. Then, he showed up there the next day.
But that day, CSU police caught Lawrence and say he even had a loaded gun, although police later found the gun was inoperable.
The victim in this case says women should do background checks on the men they let into their lives. If there's any trouble, never let your guard down.
The victim doesn't think protection orders help. But recently, the chief judge of Cleveland Municipal Court told us research has shown those orders do, in fact, work.
Lawrence once was the live-in boyfriend of the victim in this latest case. She now says Lawrence is definitely her "ex."
The domestic violence center also recommends women develop a safety plan of "what if" a stalker comes back.
