Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was in court Wednesday on felony child abuse charges and admitted to a court employee that he "smoking a little weed" before the drug test.
Peterson has been free on $15,000 bond on a charge of felony child abuse. A trial has tentatively been set to begin Dec. 1.
If Peterson is convicted on child abuse charges, he could face six months to two years in state prison. As a first time offender, probation is also an option.
Peterson was placed on the NFL's exempt list/commissioner's permission list since Sept. 17. He is still receiving his full $11.75 million dollar salary.
