MEDINA, OH (WOIO) - The Medina Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports the investigation of a fatal crash which occurred on State Route 57 southbound near Erhart Road.
The accident happened on Sunday, October 12 around 2:38 a.m.
Officials says a Mercedes convertible traveling southbound on State Route 57 lost control, traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a utility pole, overturned multiple times before going left of center and coming to final rest on its rooftop in the roadway.
The driver of the Mercedes, 48-year-old Frederick W. Beering Jr. of York Township, Ohio, was the only person in the vehicle.
Beering suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
The Erhart Fire Department, O.D.O.T., Ohio Edison and Action Towing all assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Beering was wearing a safety restraint.
It is not known if drugs and/or alcohol were involved in this traffic crash.
At this time the incident is still under investigation.
