A man is recovering after getting stabbed, wounded and robbed in downtown Cleveland on Huron Avenue.
It happened on the edge of the area considered Playhouse Square. The victim lives downtown, and the robber stole his phone, wallet and bike.
It happened in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.The neighborhood has glitzy new apartments, the new county government headquarters and more. Yet, it still also has a feeling of some danger in the shadows.
Back in May, we investigated Playhouse Square crime. We found very few violent crimes. In almost a year and a half, one rape, one robbery, and 17 felony assaults.
The biggest problem we saw was thefts.In the latest case, police tracked down the victim's bike outside the homeless shelter at East 21st Street and Lakeside Avenue.
Police are following up on leads. Multiple sources tell us the victim is the adult son of a police officer.
