Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict was fined $25,000 by the NFL for twisting the ankles of Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and tight end Greg Olsen on Sunday.
The Panthers sent the tapes of the incidents to the league. The play where Burfict twisted Cam Newton's ankle was a little more obvious than the Olsen play.
"In instances like that that are so clearly premeditated, that he had in his mind that if he had those opportunities that he was going to try and attack guys legs, but guys who are coming off ankle problems specifically, there's no room for it," Olsen told the Charlotte Observer.
The NFL wanted to send a message with the $25,000 fine, the typical personal foul fine is $8,200.
The game between the Panthers and Bengals Sunday ended in a tie.
