fans were split between Brian Hoyer and Johnny Manziel for starting quarterback and there was no shortage of opinions. Everyone has been debating the topic. We have the answer...for now.
Brian Hoyer is set to start against the Colts this weekend, but is the glass half full or half empty when it comes to his play this season?
If you see it as half full, you can point to the fact that the Browns are 7-5. Seven wins is the most the team has had since 2007 and they have a chance to make the playoffs for the first time in 12 years.
"Heard it actually on The Fan that Hoyer's starting, and I gotta tell you, I couldn't have been happier," said one caller.
If you think the glass is half empty, you can point to the last four games. Hoyer has one touchdown pass and six interceptions. He got benched against Buffalo and watched Manziel lead the Browns' only touchdown drive of the game.
"I do like Brian, but honestly, I believe if he starts this Sunday, we have no chance to win," said another caller.
It's the kind of debate that has sports radio hosts, like 92.3 The Fan's Ken Carman, giddy.
"It's a whole lot better than last year. We were debating about Brandon Weeden last year. This is a blast, considering what we've been through. Absolutely. I love it," said Carman.
This is a debate with no end in sight right now. It will hit a peak again on Sunday, depending on how Hoyer plays.
