Homeless man rapes woman in her Akron home

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Akron Police arrested a man suspected of forcing his way into a woman's home and raping her at knifepoint.

The incident happened at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3 in the 800 block of North Jenkins Blvd.

The victim reported she heard a knock at her door. When she answered the door, the suspect, wearing a ski mask and cap, forced his way into her apartment. 

After the suspect raped her, he forced her to take a shower.

The suspect then placed the victim's clothing in a bag and fled with the bag. 

Officers report that the the victim had minor cuts on her face, neck and legs.  She was treated at a local hospital.

After interviewing the victim, the responding officers located the suspect at a nearby apartment during a neighborhood canvass.

Dwayne S. Fain, 18, who is reported homeless, was arrested for the assault.

Although listed as homeless, Fain's family lives in the Akron area.

Fain was charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, rape, kidnapping, felonious assault and tampering with evidence.

He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
