TOLEDO, OH (WOIO) - A Delta 757 with engine problems made an emergency landing at Toledo Express Airport just after 8 p.m. Thursday night.
The plane took off from Detroit at 7:56 p.m. According to the Lucas County Port Authority, after a small engine fire and smoke in the cockpit, the aircraft sent out a mayday signal and landed in Toledo safely.
The Lucas County Sheriff's Department responded to the mayday signal from the aircraft, and several area fire departments also responded, following the plan for emergency situations.
The plane was heading to Ft. Lauderdale. There is no information on how many people were on board, but there were no injuries. A new plane is being brought in to continue the flight.
