Bath Police Officer saves man and dog from fire

BATH, OH (WOIO) -

A man and his dog are safe Friday morning thanks to a Bath Police Officer.

Officer Lane Watson spotted a small flame coming from a home in the 700 block of N. Cleveland-Massillon Road around 2:00 Friday morning.

Officer Watson immediately notified dispatch of the fire and started beating on the front door.

He was able to wake up the resident and his dog in time to escape the flames.

The home erupted into a fully involved fire immediately after the rescue.

The man suffered a minor burn.

Bath Firefighters say the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
