The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner announced Tuesday the 19-year-old man found in a burning car on the city's east side had been shot multiple times.

Maceo Ellington was found dead outside of 2510 East 109th Street on Sunday.

Originally, the Cleveland Division of Fire responded to a structure fire at the location.

Police say upon arrival, fire crews located a vacant home and a vehicle in the rear of the home, both on fire. After the vehicle fire was extinguished, the body of Ellington was discovered inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner says the cause of death were the multiple gunshot wounds to Ellington's chest, not the car fire.

There are no arrests.

If anyone has information related to this incident, they are urged to contact the homicide unit at 216-623-5464.
