WILLOUGHBY HILLS, OH (WOIO) - A Willoughby Hills police officer discovered a suspected mobile meth lab during a routine traffic stop at the BP gas station on SOM Center Road. The three occupants were arrested and charged with one count each of felony illegal assembly or possession of chemicals.

David Klein, 32 and Breesha Noffsinger, 28, both from Ashtabula are being held on a $2,500 bond following their arraignment Tuesday morning in Willoughby Municipal Court. 51-year-old Stanley T. Smith, of Jefferson, is being held on $50,000.

Just before 3 p.m. on Dec. 8, the officer pulled over the car after a traffic violation. The officer made observations that made him believe the occupants may have been involved in criminal activity.

K9 officers responded to the scene and were alerted to something in the car. A probable cause search led to the discovery of a suspected mobile meth lab.

Police officers and narcotics agents dismantled the lab. The three occupants were arrested but have not yet been charged.

Klein, Noffsinger, and Smith are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 17.
