You will soon be able to fly JetBlue out of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

Airport Director Ricky Smith and the VP of JetBlue's Network Planning Department Dave Clark made the announcement Tuesday.

“We couldn't be happier to bring JetBlue to northeast Ohio passengers,” said Smith. “JetBlue is yet another low-cost option for dedicated passengers and continues to establish Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) as a low fare airport. We thank JetBlue for their confidence in Cleveland.”

Service on JetBlue will begin on April 30, 2015 with nonstop service twice daily to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). Tentatively, the flight will leave BOS for CLE at 6:45 a.m. and arrive at CLE at 8:50 a.m., then depart CLE at 9:30 a.m. and arrive at BOS at 11:20 a.m. The second flight will leave BOS at 4:10 p.m. and arrive at CLE at 6:15 p.m., then depart CLE at 7:55 p.m. and arrive at BOS at 8:45 p.m. The routes will be flown on 100 seat E190 aircraft.

With the fluctuation in air service since the announcement of United's decision to pull their hub from Cleveland, this is another big step forward for CLE.

“Over the last few years, we have positioned the airport as a place to do business and make CLE the airport of choice,” said Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson. “JetBlue's announcement today shows the confidence it has in Cleveland, the people and the region.”

“We can't wait to bring our low fares to Clevelanders, starting with a route that is currently suffering from extremely high fares. Travelers in northeast Ohio will soon get to experience our superior customer offering that includes the most legroom in coach, personal screens in every seat with live TV, unlimited snacks and sodas, and great service offered by JetBlue's award-winning crew members. JetBlue looks forward to adding Cleveland to our route network and we see a bright future in this market,” said Clark.

To celebrate Cleveland becoming the latest dot on JetBlue's route map, the airline is offering an introductory fare of only $19.51, a reference to the year that rock ‘n‘ roll put Cleveland on the world map. The fare is available for one-way travel (a) between April 30 and June 18, 2015, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. All introductory fare tickets much be purchased by Dec. 10.
