Indians invite four players to Major League Camp

The Cleveland Indians have announced the club has signed free agents C Brett Hayes, OF Destin Hood, C Adam Moore, and 1B/OF Jerry Sands to Minor League contracts.

Hayes spend most of the first four months of 2014 behind A.L All-Star Salvador Perez of Kansas City, he would spend the final month of the campaign in Triple-A Omaha. He has appeared in 175 Major League games over the last six seasons.

Hood has spend his entire professional career with the Washington Nationals organization after being selected in the second round in 2008. Entering the 2013 season he was rated as the 17th best prospect in the Nationals chain according to Baseball America. In 2014 with his time between AA Harrisburg and AAA Syracuse Hood hit a combined .298 with 26 doubles, 11 home-runs, and 42 RBI's in 106 games.

Moore has appeared in 86 Major League games with Seattle, Kansas City and San Diego after being selected by the Mariners in the 6th round of the 2006 draft. In 2014 he hit .298 with 20 doubles, 12 home-runs, and 34 RBI's for AAA El Paso in the San Diego organization.

Sands appeared in 12 games for the Rays before his season ended due to injury. He was a 25th round selected of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2008 and appeared in 70 games for the Dodgers in 2011-12, hitting in 14 straight games.
