The Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Detroit Red Wings 1-0 Tuesday night to extend their win streak to seven games.
Five of the seven victories have come in overtime or a shootout. Also all seven victories have come in the month of December. The last two victories come in shootout fashion.
On Saturday Dec. 13. Cam Atkinson and Ryan Johansen scored for the Blue Jackets in the shootout against the Pittsburgh Penguins where Columbus won 4-3.
Tuesday night against the Red Wings, Ryan Johansen and Boone Jenner scored in the shootout for the Blue Jackets that allowed them to claim victory 1-0.
The Blue Jackets collected 14 of a possible 14 points so far this month. They currently sit fifth in the Metropolitan Division, only four points back of the New York Rangers.
