CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - A Cuyahoga County grand jury has now indicted a man for the death of a two-year-old girl who fell out a window. It happened on July 3, 2014 in Cleveland Heights.
Little Zanyiah Hollins fell from a second story window. Police say mom's boyfriend had been babysitting. Last month, the child's death was ruled accidental.
Records show the boyfriend initially said the child had been placed on the floor and climbed up to the window herself.
Police found he was lying on a polygraph. Records show the child was in the window and had never been placed on the floor.
Charges of reckless homicide and child endangering have been filed against the boyfriend, Teriall Mitchell, 26. The child's family has been calling for charges from the start, claiming the boyfriend had to somehow be to blame.
