(WOIO) - Nine people have been indicted in a multi-county burglary ring. Authorities say the group burglarized homes in nine different counties, then sold the stolen items.
The group is being prosecuted in a Cuyahoga County court, but records show they broke into homes in Cuyahoga, Huron, Lorain, Lake, Medina, Portage, Summit, Stark and Wood counties.
Records show over the course of 18 months, the group targeted "high-end homes." The burglars would pick targets, use lookouts and often break in on Friday and Saturday nights when fewer families would be home. The burglars often filled pillow cases with jewelry, cash, drugs and electronics first.
Investigators found the stolen items sold at a Streetsboro flea market.
