Man charged for posing as panhandler, robbing teen in broad daylight

A grand jury will now consider the case of a man arrested for an armed robbery in the heart of downtown in broad daylight.

The attack was bold and outrageous. An armed robbery right downtown. A man held up when he thought he was helping a panhandler.

On West 6th and Superior, a 19-year-old man was walking to catch a bus. Police say a guy came up asking for change and then that guy pulled a gun.

That victim says he pulled out $45 and asked if he could keep $5 since he has a baby at home. Instead, a report shows the gunman threatened to shoot. Court records show police arrested Nicolas Drake.

Records show Drake is already on probation for a felony drug case. We saw some small drug cases too.  Now he's facing felony charges for this incident.

The case just now moving through court though it happened late last month--happened in the middle of a busy workday and it happened to a teen thinking he was helping a panhandler.
