The Iowa Hawkeyes took down the No. 20 Ohio State Buckeyes 71-65 in the Big Ten opener.
Aaron White and Jarrod Uthoff led the Hawkeyes with 18 points. Sam Thompson scored 17 for the Buckeyes, D'Angeo Russell scored 13.
The Buckeyes fall to 11-3 record and 0-1 in Big Ten play.
With 3:25 left in the game Russell would knock down a three pointer to cut the Iowa lead to three points. Oglesby would hit a jumper to make it a five point lead for the Hawkeyes and Russell would make another attempt at a three pointer but would miss, then Uthoff would knock down the triple to make it an eight point lead for the Hawkeyes and the Buckeyes would not get any closer than five again. The Buckeyes come up short against the Hawkeyes 71-65.
The Buckeyes will host Illinois on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
