My guest, Karen Pozna, of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and I talked about the growing need to help feed those in need. We discussed how food is a stabilizing force in people's lives, especially around the holidays.
The Annual Harvest for Hunger campaign set a new goal by collecting more than 4.2 million dollars, translating into at least 17-million meals. Even-though the recession is officially over, there are tens of thousands of people throughout northeast Ohio still in need of help.
The Greater Cleveland Food Bank works with people to show them how to deal with financial setbacks, and helps them regain the sense of self-sufficiency. We also talked about the GCFB can leverage a dollar bill into food and other services to change children's lives as well as for families and senior citizens.
