ERIE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - Erie County Sheriff's deputies arrested Lindsey Gundlach after she backed out of a Riverview Drive home and into the Huron River on Dec. 21. Gundlach was driving a friend's 4-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter in her car when the accident happened.
"We've got a car just went into the Huron River on the side that's... Ohio. Riverview Drive," said the 911 call.
Gundlach had been drinking and her BAC was one-and-a-half times over the legal limit. The mother, who was driving her own car behind them, tried to rescue her children. 4-year-old Javin didn't make it out of water alive but his sister Autumn did.
Now their cousin, who is only seven, has an idea to help ease Autumn's heartbreak.
"I want to see her happy," said Addyson O'Rork.
Addyson has set up a GoFundMe account to bring some sunshine into Autumn's life. She is trying to raise money to pay for a Disney World trip for Autumn for her birthday in August.
Addyson's mother Krista Lewis said Addyson came up with the idea.
"How can I not support this. It's beautiful. Autumn is her cousin. They are two weeks apart," Lewis said.
So far, Autumn's Angels has raised $840 of their $3,000 goal. Click HERE if you'd like to donate.
