STARK COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

Overnight, and just hours apart, police departments Stark County were out investigating two shooting deaths.

Just after 11 p.m. last night officers from the Massillon Police Department were called to a home on Oak Trail NE in reference to shooting that had taken place during a domestic incident. Dispatchers told responding officers that the female caller, identified Colleen McKernan, told dispatchers that she had shot her husband and was performing chest compressions.

When police arrived they found 29-year-old Robert McKernan inside the home dead. He had been shot in the face and torso.

Colleen, 26, was arrested and locked up in the Stark County Jail.

Less than two hours later Sheriff's Deputies say another man was shot and killed at the Rack City After Hours Dance Club in the 3000 block of 8th Street.

Police say a fight led to the fatal shooting. When police arrived, a large crowd was gathered around the victim, 45-year-old Kemp C. Long of Canton. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

So far no one has been arrested.  The Ohio BCI, Canton Police and the Stark County Sheriff's Office is investigating and anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (330) 430-3800.
