WAYNE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has called off the search for 13-year-old Kaitlin Walters, who had left her home in Burbank, OH on Dec. 30 and had not been seen since.

On Jan. 6, the sheriff's office named 27-year-old Walter Lee Dunn as a "person of interest."

According to the sheriff's office, both subjects were located Jan. 8 in Knox County, Tennessee at approximately 1:45 a.m. after knocking on a resident's door and asking for assistance.

A Knox County deputy located the pair and contacted EMS when he believed they were suffering from hypothermia. While being treated by EMS, the deputy learned that they were entered into a national database; the girl for being missing and Dunn for having a felony warrant connected to the girl's disappearance.

Dunn was then arrested, and Kaitlin was taken to a safe location.

The sheriff's office says Dunn will soon be facing federal charges for his involvement in this matter.
