Portage County: Police need help identifying gas station robber

PORTAGE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

Portage County Sheriff David W. Doak is requesting help identifying a man involved in an armed robbery that occurred on New Years Eve. 

It happened at the Mantua Marathon gas station located at 4737 SR 82 in Mantua Township, Portage County.

At that time the thief entered the gas station armed with a large handgun. He approached the cashier and demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash. The subject then fled the area on foot. The cashier was not harmed during the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, early 30's in age, approximately 5' 08” to 5' 10” in height, average build with blue eyes. He was wearing a light blue coat with a grey hooded sweatshirt underneath and with a red shirt underneath the sweatshirt. He was also wearing blue jeans that were dirty and well worn and was wearing brown boots. His face was covered with a black cloth and he was wearing red gloves.
