Troopers say ice, prior accident a factor in fatal Mansfield crash

MANSFIELD, OH (WOIO) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol in Mansfield is investigating a fatal crash that happened around 7:30 Saturday morning on US 30 East in the rest area.

Troopers say the driver of a pickup truck lost control on the ice covered road and slid into a parked car. While both drivers were standing outside their vehicles, another pickup truck lost control and fatally struck one of the pedestrians.

There were multiple accidents due to ice and freezing rain in the area.

The victim and others involved have not been identified.
