Man wanted after robbing Walgreens at gunpoint


Fourth District Detective Bureau is investigating an aggravated robbery which occurred on Dec. 2 shortly after 8 a.m. at the Walgreens located at 11401 Union Avenue.

Preliminary investigation shows the suspect approached the cash register and said, "Don't make any noise. Don't say a word. Just open the drawer and give me the money." The cashier handed the male approximately $300, while he placed the gun on the counter and demanded three packs of cigarettes. According to employees, the suspect put the money and cigarettes in his jacket pockets, picked up the gun, and fled on foot eastbound on Union.

No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his 50s, standing 5'10" tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds. Police say he has a slender build and a dark complexion with a beard and mustache. The suspect was wearing sunglasses and a camouflage hoodie, carrying a black handgun.
