The 24-inch water main that broke on Friday in Little Italy has been repaired; however, crews are now filling the hole and there is a lot of concrete to be laid.

After that is finished, crews will begin the clean-up process.

As of 3 p.m. on Sunday John Goersmeyer of the Cleveland Water Department (CWD) told 19 Action News that the new pipe was in place after removing eight feet of a damaged water mainline in Little Italy.

Until further notice, East 120th is closed between Euclid and Mayfield, and Euclid is also closed between East 118th and Lakeview.

Limited access is granted to residents of the streets.

All residents in the neighborhood had their water service restored by Sunday afternoon.

On Friday CWD offered to pump excess water out of the basements of homeowners who had experienced any flooding but no one expressed a need for the assistance.

On Saturday we spoke to residents and property owners still trying to recover from Friday's overflow.

If any customer experiences a water emergency during this time, call 216-664-3060.

Meantime, officials say the closed streets will remain that way for the next couple days.
