WESTLAKE, OH (WOIO) - Before Buckeye fans head to work they can head over to
to get their National Championship gear.
The sporting goods store announced if the Buckeyes won Monday night's College Football Playoff Championship game the local stores would open its doors at 6 a.m. on Tuesday. The OSU Buckeyes did their part, beating the Oregon Ducks 42-20.
When 6 a.m. arrived the fans were there, snatching up hats, T-shirts and other Buckeye merchandise.
Employees at Westlake's Crocker Park location say they got the Ohio State National Championship merchandise about a week ago-long before the Buckeyes won the title. They say they got a couple thousand shirts in, but they are hoping for more to come in soon, since they anticipate a rush of Buckeye faithful fans as the day continues.
The t-shirts cost around $28 and the hats are about $27. Employees say they will be getting some new styles with the new inventory that comes in as well.
