AKRON, OH (WOIO) - A 33-year-old Akron woman remains locked up on a $150,000 bond after fleeing from police and crashing her car. A 2-year-old was ejected from the car during the whole ordeal.
they tried to stop Lashawnna Taylor early Wednesday morning for traffic violations and warrants, but Taylor refused to stop.
Police tell 19 Action News they did not give chase because there were children in the car.
While police were following Taylor she lost control on West Wilbeth and 22nd Street SW and crashed the SUV.
Taylor was arraigned Thursday on five counts of child endangering, one count of fleeing from police and other misdemeanor charges including drunken driving.
Besides the 2-year-old, there were four other kids and a female passenger in the vehicle. None of them were wearing seat belts or secured in car seats. The children's conditions have not been released but everyone is expected to be OK.
