Buckeyes quarterback Cardale Jones announced on Thursday that he will return to Ohio State to play football.
The former Glenville Tarblooder made the announcement from Ginn Academy, where Jones attended.
Jones started the season as the third string quarterback behind Braxton Miller and J.T Barrett. Miller went down in August before the season, he injured his shoulder that would put him on the sidelines for the remainder of the year. J.T Barrett took over for Miller and led the Buckeyes to a 13-1 record.
Barrett would go down in the second half of the Michigan game and Jones would make his first start in the Big Ten Championship game and the Buckeyes would shutout Wisconsin 59-0.
Jones led the Buckeyes to victory in the first round of the playoff against Alabama. Jones and the Buckeyes would play Oregon in the National Championship game, where the Buckeyes won 42-20.
It is not clear what the quarterback situation is yet at Ohio State, Barrett is likely to stay put and Miller could make a transfer.
