Woman killed in Elyria house fire ID 'd

ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) -

The Lorain County Coroner has identified a woman in her 60's killed in a house fire on Skylark Court in Elyria just after 4 p.m. Sunday.

68-year-old Janet Kemerling was unaccounted for when the call came in. Multiple crews responded.

19 Action News reporter Blake Chenault talked to several neighbors who described Kemerling as eccentric and a hoarder. 19 Action News saw evidence of hoarding in the home and in the woman's jeep, which was parked outside.

Neighbors told Chenault there was a very narrow path throughout the house between the woman's items, which is why firefighters had difficulty controlling the fire.

The preliminary cause of death is smoke inhalation.
