SAGAMORE HILLS, OH (WOIO) - Police are investigating after 94-year-old Martha Jendrix was found dead outside her assisted living facility Monday.
say they received a call from a snow plow driver that a woman was in the driveway of the
. Police say she was a resident of the community.
EMS and police responded to the scene.
The Summit County Coroner's Office has ruled Jendrix death an accident. Her cause of death was hypothermia due to environmental exposure.
According to the facility's website, various services are offered, including care for individuals with dementia and Alzheimer's.
Executive director, Greg Kaminski, released the following statement Monday evening:
"Elmcroft is cooperating with local law enforcement and the coroner's office to determine the circumstances surrounding the resident's death.
This is an ongoing investigation and out of the respect for the family and their right to privacy, as well as the resident's rights, Elmcroft cannot provide any additional information at this time.
Elmcroft and its caregivers would like to take this opportunity to express their deepest sympathy and condolences to the family."
