STARK COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - The Marlboro Police Department wants to warn residents of an impersonator. Police posted the alert on their Facebook page

Around 6 p.m. Monday, police say a black Chevrolet Impala or Malibu, possibly an early 2000 model with red and blue lights in the rear window stopped a car on Paris Avenue near Easton Street. The driver, who was described as a white male with white hair in his late 40s, represented himself as a Marlboro police detective.

Police wanted to make clear that all of the department's vehicles are white, except for a silver SUV. They also only have two unmarked cars, which are white.

More importantly, they noted that the department has no detective bureau.

Anyone with more information is urged to contact the department at 330-935-2338.
