LAKEWOOD, OH (WOIO) - On Sunday, January 25 around 12:45 a.m., Lakewood Police responded to a 911 call for shots fired in the area of Eldred Avenue. When officers arrived they found a man dead in a vehicle parked in the 2100 block of the street.

Investigators say he appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound.

The victim has been identified as Charles W. Junke, of W. 212th St., in Fairview Park. Junke owned the North Coast Express car service.

Just twelve hours after Junke was found, police were hot on the trail of their only suspect, a man who they say knew the victim.

After a stand off at the Red Roof Inn, officers barged into a hotel room to find him dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He has been identified as 53-year-old Jeffrey F. Null of Avon.

Detectives say they are not searching for any other suspects.
