WICKLIFFE, OH (WOIO) - A deadly crash closed the on-ramp from E. 305th to Route 2 for some time Wednesday morning, according to Wickliffe police.
At around 3:30 a.m. an
snowplow, being driven by Reuben Lindsey, was headed west when he was rear-ended by a Ford Explorer.
The SUV's driver, 61-year-old Robert S. Cline of Willowick, was killed. He was pronounced dead and had to be extricated from his Explorer by Wickliffe Fire.
Lindsey, a 13-year employee of ODOT in Cuyahoga County, was taken to the hospital as a precaution. He was released and is expected to be okay.
Police say Cline was speeding when he struck the ODOT truck.

ODOT snowplows were patrolling the highways and salting as necessary throughout the overnight hours. This ramp was utilized as the ODOT snowplow drivers turn around to head back westbound and continue on I-90.
