A second community meeting will be held Wednesday night to talk about body cameras.
A shipment of the department's body cams arrived this week. Tuesday night Clevelanders that came to the Harvard Services Center had a chance to hold, examine and see for themselves the body camera equipment that police officers will wear.
Wednesday at 7 p.m. a similar meeting will be held at the Covenant Community Church at 3342 E. 119th St.
But Cleveland Police Union president Steve Loomis warned the picture may not be as clear as you think. "They are really good when you are sitting calmly talking, like you and I are right now, but when we are in a situation where we are running and possibly gunning, the video is terrible, and it's going to leave a lot of unanswered questions," said Loomis.
Loomis said buying dash cams for patrol cars would have been better.
Cleveland Police will implement the use of body cameras in the fourth district beginning Feb 4.
