GEAUGA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - Four people accused of smuggling drugs into a local jail are locked up, according to the
On Jan. 27, while investigating a possible drug overdose which occurred in the Geauga County Jail, detectives learned that an inmate's girlfriend was purchasing heroin/fentanyl in Cleveland and was sewing the drug into underwear to get them inside the facility.
Detectives arrested Idonna Laskowski, 31, after learning she was responsible for smuggling the heroin into the jail. While searching Laskowski's Chesterland home they found heroin/fentanyl and other drug abuse instruments. Laskowski has been charged with conveyance in a detention facility.
Detectives were able to determine the origin of the heroin and arranged a controlled purchase from Jessie L. Green, 18.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. Green arrived at the Chesterland McDonald's with Antonio M. Washington 18, and a 17-year old-male all from Cleveland, driving a 2012 Chevy Sedan.
After the transaction took place, detectives tried to arrest the suspects, but Green took off and crashed into an unmarked police vehicle while fleeing and kept going.
