One man is dead after an early morning shooting at an east side club in Cleveland.

Cleveland Police say the man, William Burton Jr., 30, was shot several times inside Club Fly High, located near E. 71st and Superior Ave. He was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he later died.

Police say there were several patrons inside the bar when the shooting occurred.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Club Fly High is quickly becoming a notorious hot spot for violent crime.

Just last week, a jury was escorted to the bar by police SWAT for protection so they could see, in person, where a murder occurred in the summer of 2013. Curtis Marks was shot and killed at Club Fly High. On trial for his murder is suspected gang leader Julius Webster.

Last summer, a man was stabbed in the chest at the same bar. He survived his injuries.

Cleveland Councilman TJ Dow is launching a grassroots campaign to shut down the problem bar. The councilman is calling on residents to join him for a neighborhood meeting Monday to organize a campaign against the bar. The meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Addison Branch of Cleveland Public Library, located at 6901 Superior Ave.

"We've had enough," he said. "This place has got to go."
