29-year-old Robert Clark, a suspect in the murder of an elderly Strasburg, Ohio couple, is also now wanted for several armed robberies in Georgia, South Carolina and West Virginia.
Police say Clark is traveling with 28-year-old Jeffrey Caley and 26-year-old Tabatha Hazel, both of Canton.
The latest crime, according to police, took place about two hours south of Atlanta in Donalsonville, Georgia around 9:45 p.m. Sunday. Police say the three of them robbed the Sunoco Gas Station on State Route 84 at gunpoint.
There were no injuries and the suspects were last seen heading westbound on SR 84 in a dark green minivan.
Anderson County, South Carolina Sheriff Deputies are also investigating whether the trio robbed a Seven Eleven on Smith Point Rd. Sunday afternoon. Saturday evening, the suspects are accused of an armed robbery of a Little General BP store in Sissonville, West Virginia.
The remains of the Strasburg couple, Doyle Chumney, 88, and Lillian Chumney, 79, were found in their burned out vehicle in Coshocton County, Ohio on January 22.
The Chumney's were abducted from their home earlier that week.
Jeffery Stewart, 21, of New Philadelphia, was arrested Saturday, January 31, and charged with murder. He was identified with assistance from the public after task force members released a surveillance photograph of him.
Stewart was arraigned in Coshocton Municipal Court Monday afternoon. He requested a court appointed attorney and bond was set at $2 million. Stweart will be back in court on Feb. 9.
