12 jurors and a couple of alternates have been seated in the trial for serial rapist James Daniel, III.
Daniel, dubbed the "Early Morning Rapist" is charged with three counts of kidnapping and two counts of rape among other charges.
Prosecutors say he raped a woman at gunpoint in Aug. 2014 in Lakewood, and another in Cleveland a month later.
Besides those two assaults, his DNA also connects him to the February 7, 2000, rape of another Cleveland woman.
Daniel has spent much of his adult life in prison. Since 2000, Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court judges have sentenced him to the penitentiary for crimes that include felonious assault, robbery, burglary and receiving stolen property.
He most recently left prison on March 31, 2014 and was on three years' post-release control at the time of the crimes.
Opening statements are scheduled to begin Tuesday afternoon.
