BEREA, OH (WOIO) - Parole has been denied for a convicted killer.

A parole hearing for Warren Paxton Brown was held today at the Hocking Correctional Facility.

Brown was convicted of murdering of 13-year-old Robyn Star Field in 1986. Brown and Robyn both lived in Berea and were neighbors. 

Brown was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 20 years and so far, has served 28 years. 

Field's family started a petition to keep Brown behind bars.

Today's decision will be official in about a month.

Brown will have another chance at parole in 2020.
