Police search for man accused of robbing four stores in the Akron area

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - A man who police say robbed a Walgreens Friday night has been tied to the robberies of a couple of other stores.

The clerk, at Walgreen's on South Canton Road, reported the suspect entered the store, walked around for a minute and then approached the checkout counter. The suspect had one of his hands in his pocket, as if he had a gun, and demanded money. The clerk handed the suspect an unknown amount of cash before he ran out the store.

The suspect is a white male, 30 – 40 years old, 6'0” – 6'02”, 200 – 220 lbs., heavy set, with a mustache and rotten teeth, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and hat with red along the bottom.

The suspect appears to be involved in several other robberies of local businesses:
  • January 24, 2015 around 7:00pm, the Dollar General Store, located at 1537 Brittain Road.
  • January 26, 2015 around 8:30pm, the Dollar General Store, located at 2072 Mogadore Road.
  • February 4, 2015 around 7:30pm, at the Subway, located at 1033 Kenmore Boulevard.
