BRIMFIELD, OH (WOIO) - The Ohio Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Investigation is putting the Brimfield Police Department on its radar.

The BCI investigation into "internal issues" comes at the request of the Portage County Sheriff's Office, which was asked to look into the Brimfield P.D. by acting chief Christopher Adkins.

Adkins took over the role after Chief David Oliver stepped down in January. Oliver retired from law enforcement amid controversy.

He was suspended for two weeks by Brimfield Township trustees for alleged discrimination issues, but Oliver announced his retirement instead.
