. The 5 AM temperature of -7 degrees ties one of our oldest (1885) standing records. Clouds will be on the increase today but highs will rebound into the teens on light southwesterly breezes. Another arctic airmass will descend on us early Wednesday. Snow showers develop this evening and temperatures will remain well below average for this time of year. Light snow tonight will amount to little in the way of accumulation but Wednesday afternoon holds the prospect of another inch or two of "winter white" landscape covering.

A team of scientists at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Austria did a study on dogs and their reaction to human faces.
The study showed that dogs can discriminate between faces on pictures. And on top of that, the happy human faces tended to get the better response.
Researchers say we knew dogs can smell and hear better than us, but studies up until now have severely underestimated their visual abilities.
