Murder suspect asks the Chumney family for forgiveness

COSHOCTON COUNTY, OH - Murder suspect Robert Clark appeared relaxed as he faced a judge in Coshocton County Tuesday.

Clark is accused in the kidnapping and murders of Doyle and Lillian Chumney of Strasburg. The Chumneys were found inside their burning car.

Clark was arrested in Arizona after a nationwide manhunt.

Clark appeared relaxed in court Tuesday, wearing an orange jumpsuit and shackles, and casually swaying in his chair.

The judge read the charges against Clark and explained his rights before setting bond at $5 million.

Clark requested a public defender. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 27 at 9 a.m.

As he was led into the courthouse, Clark told our Scott Taylor he is sorry for the crimes and he hopes the Chumney family will someday forgive him.
